Beacon House USA is legally registered in Lexington, NC for the sole purpose of collecting and forwarding funds to Ghana where the work is done. Ghana is a country about the size of 
Oregon, USA with a population of approx. 27.4 million. Approximately 57% of the population is under the age of 25. The current fertility rate is 4 children per woman, less than twice that of the USA. The country while very poor compared to the US is a stable democracy (rare in Africa) and moving toward being a middle-income country as defined by the World Bank. More statistics can be found here.
